"Wokking" with The Wok Shop
Learn how to fold wontons and steam dumplings in an intimate home setting overlooking a breathtaking view of the San Francisco skyline.
Come join Culinary Arts Master Chef Ray Leong as he partners with The Wok Shop to bring you Wokking with The Wok Shop," a Saturday morning (9:30 AM to 1:00 PM) hands-on Chinese cooking class filled with tips and recipes designed to encourage the beginning chef and titillate the seasoned Chinese cooking expert. Each class culminates in a fabulous Chinese luncheon feast that youve helped prepare!
Cooking skills to be developed include:
Hot Pot (Shabu Shabu)
Wok Cooking
Clay Pot Cooking
Steaming with Bamboo Steamers
Artful slicing and dicing with a Chinese cleaver
Dishes you will learn to make (from the well-known favorites to the exotic):
Steamed vegetable dumplings
Sesame chicken salad
Garlic scallion shrimp
Clay pot chicken/rice
Spicy or not so spicy Szechuan hot pot
Cost: $75 (payment in advancecash, check, or credit card)
Location: Classes to be held in a home in Laurel Heights (California/Laurel/Euclid).

Chef Ray Leong is an experienced chef and instructor of culinary arts and comes to us from the Marriott Hotel Kona Kai Restaurant in Athens, Greece. He is a graduate of City College of San Francisco Hotel and Restaurant Management program, apprenticed at the renowned St. Francis and Sir Francis Drake Hotels in San Francisco and has held positions at a number of exclusive San Francisco institutions, including the Olympic Golf and Country Club and Camp Chef at the Bohemian Grove.
