After a two-year mission to China, The Wok Shop finally was successful in manufacturing this fabulous hand-hammered wok in Guangdong Province. Beautifully dimpled from the hammering process, these woks are handsome enough to be showpiece and well-made enough to endure a lifetime of daily use. Now, available in flat bottom, 14″ only 14 gauge, for electric coil stoves, grill tops. This wok is very easy to season and with gas heat, you will get 'wok hee', the breath of a wok. Gets hot quickly and retains heat. Carbon steel. Round bottom. Wok ring not included with round bottom wok. Purchase separately. (flat bottom wok is not used with a wok ring).

You might need wok ring ($2.95) to stabilize your round bottom wok on the stove.

Recommended: Flaxseed oil to season your wok, excellent results and smokeless if seasoning in oven.

    What a beautiful wok!!! I seasoned the wok upon arrival by oiling it and heating it in the oven. I turned a gorgeous copper color!~ We do not have a gas stove, and this is a round bottom wok. We bought it to use on our grill.

    On the Weber, we place a grate that has a removable center piece that allows the addition of charcoal will cooking. We took the center piece out, lit the charcoal and then placed the wok in the circular opening to cook over an open flame.

    This worked perfectly! We were able to achieve a searing hot wok, and made stir-frying a breeze.

    I can’t wait for this to get old and black and acquire the elusive breath of the wok

    the wok is exactly as described. it feels solid and i followed the instructions for seasoning and it worked well. i might have over oiled when seasoning, so i had some smell in the house due to the burning oil. i could have done the seasoning on the grill outside and not deal with the smell. i would definitely buy this wok again if i ever need a new one

    The only trouble that I had with this wok is that I bought one too large for my stove to boil. I had to scrub it a bit more than normal because of this, but after seasoning the wok with the flaxseed oil, it performs great. The oil left a very pleasing to color and it is awesome to cook with.

    The metal is fairly thin which allows your to easily handle moving the wok while cooking and heats up very fast.
