After a two year mission to China, The Wok Shop was finally successful in manufacturing this fabulous hand-hammered pow wok in Guang Dong Province and we wok’ed /worked very hard in maintaining a very affordable price. Also, just arrived from China; flat bottom hand-hammered only in 14″ with wood handle, metal hollow handle or 2 metal handles, 14 gauge. Flat bottom not recommended for heat induction or glass/ceramic stoves.

Available in 14-inch round bottom wok, 6-piece set with the wok, an aluminum lid, stainless steel spatula, perforated steamer, wok ring and wok brush.

Also available with metal handle. Want 10-inch wok? Consider metal handle wok either.

Recommended: Flaxseed oil to season your wok, excellent results and smokeless if seasoning in oven.

    I bought a 16″ hand hammered wok and was not impressed with the workmanship. My expectation of the Wok Shop was higher than the expectations they have of themselves. My husband said it looked like it was made by a child in shop class. The issue was primarily the handle, it was loose and two screws were put it that were not even flush with the handle. My husband had to take the handle off and insert it correctly and put in stainless screws. The ones he removed were already rusted. I did let the shop know and they didn’t seem concerned stating that’s how they are made. Too bad.

    I am in love with my wok. The craftsmanship is beautiful and it was much lighter than I expected. It’s so light that I thought they forgot to put the wok inside the box before they shipped it to me. The handle is welded to the base of the wok, where many other woks I found online used screws. The wooden part is secured very tightly and does not move at all. After putting it in the oven for an hour to season it, the wooden handle did wiggle slightly due to the metal expanding, but it is now back as tight as it was when I received it.

    Furthermore, after I contacted the company regarding a shipping issue, I was surprised when the owner contacted me personally to correct the issue herself. It is clear that Ms. Chen is passionate about her work and bringing her joy of woks to the world.

    I got a 14′ hand hammered pow wok, flat bottom, and it is great .very easy to season with the enclosed instructions, and also on the website, they have a video of how to season it properly, I did mine in the oven, first, then stir fried some onions and it came out good , now the more I use it the better it will get . I am very happy with my purchase, and highly recommend the wok shop..

    Well made and works well. I agree with the recommendation to season with flax seed oil.
