A very traditional design that has been used in the Chinese countryside for centuries. Now it is available in the U.S. through the Wok Shop. Round bottom only and 4-1/2 inches in depth. Small metal handles. Retains heat, cooks evenly, quickly and efficiently and imparts the Chinese “wok hee” (wok flavor). Must be seasoned. Made in China.

Available in 4 sizes: 13, 14 16 and 17 inches, or as a 5-piece set with the wok, an aluminum lid, stainless steel spatula, wok ring and bamboo cleaning whisk.

You might need wok ring ($2.95) to stabilize this round-bottom wok on the stove.

Recommended: Flaxseed oil to season your wok, excellent results and smokeless if seasoning in oven.

    This is a great wok. Lightweight and seasoned well. It makes stir-frying a breeze with wonderful wok hay.

    I absolutely love this wok. It heats up very quickly and shuts down just as quickly. I heat it with a Iwatani butane stove since I have an electric glasstop range. A great combo recommended by Eleanor Hoh.

    The seasoning instructions worked perfectly so cleanup is a breeze.

    The light weight makes it easy to move around.

    The surface is perfect for holding aromatics off to the side, something I found troublesome with smooth walled woks.

    Originally bought the 16″ wok. My husband has been cooking bigger batches lately for my hungry boys so I thought we should also invest in a 17″ wok too. I have not used it yet but will very soon. I love our 16″ wok so I’m sure the 17″ wok will work out great since I had no problems with my first wok. Great service. My order arrived within 2 days. I was pleasantly surprised. Thanks!
