This age-old technique maintains vitamins, nutrients, and natural juices and therefore fulfills the present day demand for low-fat cooking. An attractive exterior with etchings of Chinese characters and natural images; made of rich red clay and polished to a smooth finish. Found only in the Yunnan province of China, this unique clay with traces of copper and zinc adds weight and strength to the steam pot. Odors do not remain in the pot or affect the taste of subsequent dishes. Comes with a lid and recipes. Available in 2-quart capacity and 1-3/4 quart capacity and 3.5 qt. capacity.

    This is a beautiful pot that works exactly as it should. These are not easy to find – There are domestic ones that cost serious big bucks, but frankly they’re not as nice as this one does. The clay that comes from Yunnan really does make a difference. One point I’ll make about use of this – You can and really should try loading it dry – Just what you want to infuse – the steam will condense and make amazing broth, without any liquid added to the pot – Magical!
